Melker of Sweden was established in 2015 and is a Swedish water sports brand that has recently taken the place of the most prominent company in the industry, with a strong focus on design, sustainability and innovation. The company was the first in the world to 3D-print a kayak in one piece using completely recyclable and bio-based materials. Now the company is taking the next step and launching the first full-sized sea kayak made of bio-based lightweight composite. The kayak will be available on the market already in 2023 and the prototype is developed and manufactured in Sweden.
– Recently, we showed the first prototype at a trade show in Lyon where it received a great response and now we are premiering the kayak in Sweden at the Boat Show in Gothenburg from 4th to 12th February. The first step is to launch our best-selling Melker Rödlöga in the new bio-based lightweight material in 2023 and then we plan to launch more models continuously, says CEO and founder Pelle Stafhede.
The CEO and founder, Pelle Stafhede, has had the vision since the start of Melker of Sweden to manufacture the world's most beautiful, fully bio-based, and circular kayaks, without sacrificing function, quality, and weight.
Since the start of Melker of Sweden, the ambition has been to produce in Sweden and now it is on its way to being realized.
"Melker is a well-known brand, is established internationally, and now we have secured both the manufacturing process and material. We have come a long way with our plans for own production in Sweden and we have gathered unique expertise in research, development, and production at home," says Pelle Stafshede.
