Melker Ulvön benefits from the innovative, natural & sustainable top-notch flax fibres from Swiss-based Bcomp.
Less weight, more strength & durability in a sustainable way using locally grown and renewable flax fibres, makes Melker Ulvön less harmful to the environment and irresistible beautiful.
Care for the environment and excellent design & capabillities is no longer in contrast!
Melker Ulvön has been nominated to several awards, like Outdoor Product of the Year and Design S.
Most recently the kayak won The German Design Award 2018 in Excellent Product Design, which is the official and most prestigious design award for Germany, presented by the German Ministry for Economics and Technology - honoured by the international design industry & community.
The extended waterline gives Melker Ulvön an excellent glide and the highest speed with very little effort.
With the large volume in the bow, the kayak offers an exceptional performance catching bigger waves and swells.
The kayak’s playfulness shows itself in the strongly turned freeboards and refined curves, which give the kayak a great end stability and maneuverability, offering responsive and comfortable carving turns.
The maneuverability can be even further enhanced with a responsive and retractable rudder (option), making it possible to master the most challenging conditions.
The smooth cockpit is optimized for efficient power strokes and rotation, and is further customized for excellent comfort and great convenience during entry and exit, even for the larger paddlers.
The adjustable, ergonomic and padded seat in combination with optimal legroom give you great control in the tougher conditions and exceptional comfort during the full day’s ride.
Two big oval hatches in the aft and bow make it easy to pack all the needed gear and offer great space for longer expeditions.
The big 7,9 inch day hatch is placed directly behind the cockpit, where the paddler can easily access the packed lunch, a camera or an extra jacket.
The smart recessed area on the fore deck, just in front of the cockpit, holds the water bottle or the pump in place – or simply out of the way.
The kayak is designed by award winning design engineer Magnus de Brito, working closely with Melker Kayaks’ design team.
With Melker Ulvön we take yet another step towards fulfilling Melker Kayaks’ vision of producing kayaks with zero environmental impact.
Dual color hull/deck, visible flax fibres on the deck and inside, skeg & rudder, backrest and soft seat.

Melker is a classic Swedish name and the name of a well known character in Saltkråkan, a television show that started 1964 in Sweden. The script was written by Astrid Lindgren, Swedens most famous children author.
The series takes place in Stockholm archipelago and therefore it is something many swedes think about when they think about the archipelago.
We chose the name Melker as a hommage to the TV series, and we believe that one of our missions is to help people have great experiences on and by the water.
